The EuroHPC Joint Undertaking-funded project Inno4scale started on July 1st, 2023 to foster the development of algorithms for exascale supercomputers. As supercomputers become more powerful, it is even more important to increase the processing capabilities of the architectures of these exascale and post-exascale computers. Only in this way is it possible to exploit the full potential of these supercomputers.
Organised by the project coordinator, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, the kick-off meeting was held remotely today. 13 representatives from the project partner organisations came together to discuss strategies, goals, and different approaches for Inno4scale and in particular its open call that will start shortly. “I am happy to officially announce the beginning of the Inno4scale project. The kick-off meeting has put forth so many ideas that we as a consortium will realise for the project. We are very curious about the proposals we’ll receive through the open call and the innovation studies we will support in the next 21 months,” said Oriol Pineda, Head of Infrastructure Access at Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
Inno4scale supports the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking in achieving the deployment of Exascale supercomputers in Europe. The need for adapted software is becoming more urgent in light of the two EuroHPC Joint Undertaking supercomputers that are going to be deployed in Germany and France soon.
